Namakwa Wildflowers

Considered the gateway to Namaqualand, Pofadder has front row seats to one of nature’s greatest spectacles on earth. The wildflower season kicks off after the rains from July to October. This is a show you do not want to miss with a variety of over 3000 types of wildflowers to view. Over 2000 of these appear nowhere else on earth.

 

4×4 Trails with Dinky’s Dunes

For the sand-lovers – try an exhilarating 4 x 4 experience between rich, red dunes interspersed with rocky outcrops and grassy plains. Camping sites are available with hot showers, running toilets, braai facilities and shaded camping areas. Dinky’s Dunes is a must- do for any serious 4 x 4 enthusiast and will test your abilities as a driver.

 

Namaqua 4 x 4 Eco-Trail

The Namaqua 4 x 4 Eco-Trail is a self-drive route that extends for an impressive 600 kilometres through this rugged terrain. It takes between 54 and 72 hours to complete and has a formal grading of between two and three.

 

Goegap Nature Reserve MTB Trails

Roughly 35 km of 4 x 4 tracks serve as your playground. Start at the reserve office, before riding up a narrow valley that cuts through the huge granite boulders of the Klein Koperberge (small copper mountains).

 

Augrabies Falls

Without a doubt the most spectacular waterfalls in South Africa. To experience the full spectacular, time your visit to arrive just after the rains, when the swollen Orange River pours over the falls in a thundering applause.
